Tom Keating on Hictu!

A first comment by Tom Keating:

We all have problems with our multiple digital address books, multiple IM/VoIP clients, which affects productivity - both professionally and personally. Checking each client to see which buddies are online or to look for a specific buddy is a pain if you run multiple clients like most of us do.

I’ll have to try it out when I get a chance.

The idea of a presence enabled address book is very interesting.

Does Hictu use SIP/SIMPLE ? If yes, what is the URI of the server.

Also, do you plan to support IMPS from Wireless Village for mobiles ?

    Hello Kael,
the support for SIP/SIMPLE is already deployed in our test plant, but it’s not yet available. We have a full featured SIP/SIMPLE presence server that will provide access to Hictu! for Symbian mobile phones and we’ll add soon SIMPLE support for any other client as well.
IMPS support is planned too, but in a second phase, after we have enough feedback from our mobile users to plan such a release, while we already have the technological bricks.
Thank you for your questions. If you need any further info you can also write a personal email at [email protected]
