A fundamental task: inviting your contacts
Thursday, December 21st, 2006Hictu! users can populate their presence-enabled contact list in several ways: importing their email client address books, inserting email address, inserting an Hictu! nickname.
After the contact list population procedure is completed, a very important procedure should be issued: invite your contacts. In this way they will know that you want to see their presence status and communication means, and will decide to grant you authorization to see them.
To invite a contact, go in your contact list and look the status of the contact you are interested in: on the left an icon shows if the contact already granted you authorization (icon with an eye) or not yet (icon with a red signal). On the right you can see an icon with an arrow and an email symbol. This is the icon to click to invite the contact to share her status.
If you have already sent an invitation without yet a granted authorization, the icon tooltip on the right informs you about it, reminding how many invitations you have sent before.
Remember: if you don’t ask for the authorization, you’ll not see the status of your contacts.
If a contact have gave you authorization, you see her collection of status icons showing the aggregated presence status and a list of available communications means.
Add your contacts, invite them and improve your communication now!
